During the height of the Second World War, the United States Mint produced a distinctive variation of its classic five-cent piece. This 1943 specimen, struck at the Denver Mint, showcases the enduring Jefferson nickel design in remarkable detail, preserved in a high certified grade of Mint State 66. The obverse of the coin features the left-facing portrait of Thomas Jefferson.
