1953-D Lincoln Cent BU (Red)

0.0000 troy oz 1953 Brilliant Unc

The 1953 Lincoln cent struck at the Denver Mint represents a classic era of American pocket change. Minted in copper, this coin displays a vibrant red luster from its exceptional state of preservation, classified as Brilliant Uncirculated. The Denver origin is clearly marked on the obverse by the small D mint mark positioned just beneath the date. On the obverse, the coin features the familiar profile bust of Abraham Lincoln, a design created by Victor David Brenner. Accompanying the portrait are the inscriptions LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, framing the president's likeness. The reverse side of the coin presents a minimalist and iconic mid-century design. It features two stylized wheat ears flanking the denomination ONE CENT and the country of origin, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. This simple yet elegant pairing of agricultural imagery and bold typography defines the beloved wheat penny era.
