1958-D Lincoln Cent BU (Red)

0.0000 troy oz 1958 Brilliant Unc

The 1958-D Lincoln Cent represents the final year of a legendary era in American pocket change. Struck at the Denver Mint in copper, this coin is preserved in a brilliant uncirculated state, showcasing the original red luster of the metal just as it appeared when it left the coining press over six decades ago. On the obverse, the profile of Abraham Lincoln faces right, a design created by Victor David Brenner. This side bears the familiar inscriptions of trust and freedom, with "IN GOD WE TRUST" arching over the president, "LIBERTY" positioned to his left, and the date "1958" paired with the "D" mint mark on the right. The reverse features the traditional wheat reverse design, which would be replaced the following year. Two stylized ears of wheat frame the central inscriptions, which state the denomination as "ONE CENT" and identify the nation as the "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA".
