In 1960, the United States Mint in Philadelphia produced a nickel that continues to capture the interest of coin enthusiasts. Struck in copper, this five-cent piece is preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, meaning it retains the bright luster and crisp details it had when it first left the minting facility. The obverse features a profile portrait of Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States. Surrounding his likeness are the traditional American mottos, including the trust in a higher power and the concept of liberty. On the reverse, the coin displays a detailed depiction of Monticello, Jefferson's famous Virginia estate. This architectural vignette is accompanied by the Latin phrase meaning out of many, one, alongside the denomination and the name of the issuing nation. Created by designer Felix O.
