0.0000 troy oz 1962 Brilliant Unc

This five-cent piece from 1962 represents a classic era of mid-century American coinage. Struck at the Denver Mint, this specimen remains in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, preserving the sharp details of its original engraving just as it emerged from the coining press decades ago. The obverse of the coin features a dignified profile portrait of Thomas Jefferson, designed by Felix O. Schlag. Accompanying the portrait is the familiar national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," alongside the word "LIBERTY" and the date. On the reverse, Schlag's design showcases Monticello, the historic Virginia estate of Thomas Jefferson. The home is depicted in fine architectural detail, centered above the denomination "FIVE CENTS" and the country name "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA." The traditional Latin motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is positioned gracefully above the dome of the mansion, completing a design that has become a staple of American pocket change.
