1963 Jefferson Nickel BU
The 1963 Jefferson nickel is a classic example of mid-century American coinage. Struck in Philadelphia, this five-cent piece is preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, offering a crisp look at a design that became a staple of daily commerce in the United States. The obverse of the coin displays a profile portrait of Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States. Accompanying his likeness is the traditional national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," rendered in clear lettering along the left rim. On the reverse, the coin features a detailed depiction of Monticello, Jefferson's famous neoclassical estate in Virginia. This side showcases the home's distinct dome and portico, framed by the inscriptions "E PLURIBUS UNUM" above the building and "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" along the bottom rim.
