In 1967, the United States Mint produced a special version of its classic penny, striking a balance between standard circulating coinage and proof issues. This particular piece, composed of a traditional alloy of 95 percent copper alongside 5 percent tin and zinc, showcases the enduring legacy of the Lincoln Cent series in a brilliant uncirculated condition. The obverse of this coin presents the iconic right-facing profile of Abraham Lincoln, a portrait originally created by Victor David Brenner. Legible inscriptions surrounding the bust include the words LIBERTY, the date 1967, and the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST. On the reverse, the coin features the Lincoln Memorial, a design by Frank Gasparro that served as the reverse image for the series from 1959 to 2008.
