This 1968 cent from the Denver Mint represents a classic era of American pocket change. Struck in a traditional alloy containing 95 percent copper alongside a 5 percent mixture of tin and zinc, this coin displays the lustrous red glow characteristic of a high-quality, uncirculated specimen. The obverse features the iconic right-facing portrait of Abraham Lincoln, a design created by Victor David Brenner. Accompanying the bust are the familiar inscriptions of liberty and trust, along with the 1968 date and the small D mint mark below it, indicating its origin at the Denver facility. On the reverse, the coin displays the Lincoln Memorial, a detailed architectural design by Frank Gasparro that graced the penny from 1959 to 2008.
