1968-S Lincoln Cent BU (Red)

0.0000 troy oz 1968 Brilliant Unc

Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this 1968 Lincoln Cent showcases a vibrant copper composition consisting of 95 percent copper and 5 percent tin and zinc. Preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, the coin retains its original red luster, highlighting the fine details of its design just as it appeared when it first left the coining press. The obverse features the historic right-facing portrait of Abraham Lincoln, a design created by Victor David Brenner. Accompanying the bust are the familiar inscriptions of liberty and trust, along with the distinct "S" mint mark below the date, indicating its origin in San Francisco. On the reverse, the coin displays the Lincoln Memorial, a design by Frank Gasparro that was minted continuously from 1959 to 2008. This detailed depiction of the monument is surrounded by the traditional inscriptions of the United States of America, the denomination of one cent, and the motto of national unity.
