On the obverse, the right-facing portrait of Abraham Lincoln, originally created by Victor David Brenner, dominates the design. The legendary inscriptions "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "LIBERTY" frame the president, alongside the 1969 date. The reverse features the detailed depiction of the Lincoln Memorial, a design by Frank Gasparro that was minted continuously from 1959 to 2008.
