1985-D Jefferson Nickel BU
The 1985 Jefferson nickel, struck at the Denver Mint, represents a classic era of modern United States coinage. This five-cent piece is preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, showcasing the original details of the design just as it looked when it first emerged from the coining presses. On the obverse, a profile portrait of Thomas Jefferson faces left. Surrounding his likeness are the traditional American inscriptions, including the word of freedom, LIBERTY, and the national motto, IN GOD WE TRUST, alongside the 1985 year of production and the D mint mark representing the Denver facility. The reverse of the coin features a detailed depiction of Monticello, the famous Virginia home designed by Jefferson himself. The building is centered on the coin, flanked by the classic phrases E PLURIBUS UNUM above and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA below, with the denomination of FIVE CENTS clearly marked.
