1987-D Jefferson Nickel BU

0.0000 troy oz 1987 Brilliant Unc

The 1987 Jefferson nickel struck at the Denver Mint offers a crisp look at one of America's most enduring coin designs. This five cent piece, preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, showcases the sharp details of a design that has graced United States coinage for decades. On the obverse, a left-facing portrait of Thomas Jefferson dominates the field. The legendary American statesman is accompanied by the familiar national mottos and the year of production. The inscription "IN GOD WE TRUST" curves along the left rim, while "LIBERTY" and the date "1987" are positioned on the right, alongside the "D" mint mark indicating its Denver origin. The reverse of the coin is dedicated to Monticello, the historic Virginia estate of Thomas Jefferson. The grand neoclassical home is rendered in careful detail, capturing the steps and dome of the mansion. Above the structure, the Latin phrase "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is inscribed, while the denomination "FIVE CENTS" and the issuing country "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" frame the building from below.
