1990-D Jefferson Nickel BU

0.0000 troy oz 1990 Brilliant Unc

The 1990 Jefferson nickel, struck at the Denver Mint, stands as a classic representation of twentieth-century American coinage. This particular specimen is preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, retaining the original luster and sharp details from the day it was minted. The obverse of the coin features a dignified, left-facing portrait of Thomas Jefferson, designed by Felix O. Schlag. Accompanying the profile of the third United States president are the traditional inscriptions "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "LIBERTY," alongside the 1990 year of issue and the "D" mint mark representing the Denver facility. On the reverse, Schlag's detailed rendering of Monticello, Jefferson's historic Virginia estate, takes center stage. The building is framed by the national motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" above and the denomination "FIVE CENTS" below. The inscription "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" curves along the bottom rim, completing a design that has graced American pockets for generations.
