1991-D Mount Rushmore 1/2 Dollar Clad Commem BU (w/Box & COA)
In 1991, the United States marked the golden anniversary of the Mount Rushmore National Memorial with a special commemorative half dollar. This legal tender coin, backed by the United States government, features a composition of copper and nickel bonded directly to a pure copper core. Strikingly designed, the coin serves as a tribute to one of the nation's most recognizable landmarks. On the obverse side, designed by Marcel Jovine, is a detailed rendering of the famous mountain carving itself. The inscriptions on this face include the word LIBERTY and the phrase IN GOD WE TRUST, which frames the monumental stone faces. The reverse of the coin shifts focus to a classic symbol of the American West, featuring a detailed depiction of an American bison. Surrounding the animal are the inscriptions GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and E PLURIBUS UNUM, alongside the denomination of HALF DOLLAR. This particular brilliant uncirculated edition was struck at the Denver Mint, carrying the D mint mark.
