The 1992 Lincoln Cent struck at the Denver Mint represents a fascinating chapter in modern American pocket change. This particular specimen is preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, retaining its original red luster. While many associate the penny with copper, this issue actually consists of a zinc-dominated alloy, containing 99.2 percent zinc and a thin outer plating of just 0.8 percent copper. The entire coin weighs a precise 2.5 grams. The obverse features the iconic right-facing bust of Abraham Lincoln, a design created by Victor David Brenner. Legible inscriptions on this side include the national motto, IN GOD WE TRUST, alongside the word LIBERTY, the 1992 date, and the D mint mark signifying its Denver origin. On the reverse, the Lincoln Memorial design by Frank Gasparro is showcased. This reverse design was minted continuously from 1959 to 2008. The back of the coin displays the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, the denomination ONE CENT, and the traditional Latin phrase E PLURIBUS UNUM.
