1993 Lincoln Cent BU (Red)

0.0000 troy oz 1993 Brilliant Unc

The 1993 Lincoln Cent represents a fascinating chapter in modern American pocket change, showcasing a composition that is predominantly zinc (99.2 percent) with a thin outer coating of copper (0.8 percent). Weighing exactly 2.5 grams, this brilliant uncirculated coin retains its original red luster, highlighting the fine details of a design that circulated for decades. On the obverse, the familiar right-facing profile of Abraham Lincoln dominates the field. This side features the legible inscriptions of LIBERTY to the left of the portrait, the date 1993 to the right, and the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST arching along the top rim. This side of the coin was originally rendered by designer Victor David Brenner. The reverse displays the Lincoln Memorial, a design by Frank Gasparro that was minted continuously from 1959 to 2008. Above the monument, the legends UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and E PLURIBUS UNUM are clearly struck, while the denomination ONE CENT is boldly displayed below, anchoring the symmetric and historic reverse design.
