1995-S Lincoln Cent PR-69 PCGS (Red)
1995-S Lincoln Cent PR-69 PCGS (Red)
In 1995, the San Francisco Mint struck an exceptional version of the classic Lincoln Cent. This proof coin, certified in an elite Proof 69 Deep Cameo condition, highlights the enduring legacy of America's longest-running small cent series. The coin is composed of a zinc core plated with a thin layer of copper, totaling 99.2 percent zinc and 0.08 percent copper. The obverse features the familiar right-facing bust of Abraham Lincoln, originally created by Victor David Brenner. Legible inscriptions on this side include the national motto, IN GOD WE TRUST, the word LIBERTY, the year 1995, and the S mint mark representing the San Francisco facility. On the reverse, Frank Gasparro's depiction of the Lincoln Memorial stands out sharply. This reverse design was minted continuously from 1959 to 2008. The surrounding inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the denomination, ONE CENT. The deep cameo contrast of this specific coin emphasizes the sharp details of both the obverse portrait and the architectural lines of the memorial against a mirror-like background.
