The 2006 Lincoln Cent represents a classic era of American pocket change, captured here in its brilliant uncirculated state with a striking red coloration. This particular coin, struck at the Philadelphia Mint, showcases the enduring legacy of the United States cent. Composed of a zinc core plated with a thin layer of copper (99.2 percent zinc and 0.8 percent copper), this coin retains the bright, original luster of its metal composition. On the obverse, the familiar right-facing profile of Abraham Lincoln dominates the design. This historic bust, created by Victor David Brenner, is accompanied by the traditional inscriptions of LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, alongside the 2006 year of issue. The reverse side features the Lincoln Memorial, a design by Frank Gasparro that graced the reverse of the penny from 1959 to 2008.
