The 2006-S Lincoln Cent represents a modern refinement of one of America's most enduring coin designs. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this cent is preserved in Gem Proof quality, displaying a brilliant red copper finish that highlights the intricate details of the engraving. The composition consists of 95 percent copper, with the remaining five percent made of tin and zinc, giving the piece its rich, warm coloration. On the obverse, the right-facing profile of Abraham Lincoln dominates the field. This side is inscribed with the traditional mottoes "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "LIBERTY," alongside the 2006 date and the "S" mint mark, which denotes its origin in San Francisco. The design was originally created by Victor David Brenner. The reverse features the Lincoln Memorial, a design by Frank Gasparro that was minted continuously from 1959 to 2008. Above the detailed structure of the monument, the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "E-PLURIBUS UNUM" are clearly visible, while the denomination "ONE CENT" is placed below.
