2009-D Lincoln Cent Professional Life BU (Red)

0.0000 troy oz 2009 Brilliant Unc

In 2009, the United States Mint celebrated a double anniversary: two centuries since the birth of Abraham Lincoln and one hundred years since the debut of the iconic Lincoln cent. This brilliant uncirculated copper-plated zinc coin, struck at the Denver Mint, represents a key chapter in that celebration, focusing specifically on Lincoln's professional life. The obverse retains the classic right-facing portrait of Lincoln, a design originally created by Victor David Brenner. Legible inscriptions on this side include the traditional mottos "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "LIBERTY," alongside the 2009 date and the "D" mint mark. On the reverse, a distinct design by Joel Iskowitz and Don Everhart depicts a young Lincoln standing before the State Capitol building in Illinois, symbolizing his early career as a lawyer and politician. The reverse inscriptions read "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and the denomination "ONE CENT."
