The year 2010 marked a fresh chapter for America's most recognizable small coin, introducing a reverse design that continues to be struck today. This brilliant uncirculated cent showcases a vibrant red copper luster, though the coin itself is composed of a zinc core containing 99.2 percent zinc and a thin outer layer of 0.8 percent copper. On the obverse, the classic right-facing portrait of Abraham Lincoln remains the focal point, designed by Victor David Brenner. This side features the familiar inscriptions of trust and liberty, alongside the 2010 date. Turning the coin over reveals the Union shield design by Lyndall Bass, symbolizing national unity.
