2012-D Jefferson Nickel BU

0.0000 troy oz 2012 Brilliant Unc

In 2012, the Denver Mint produced this five-cent piece, struck in copper-nickel. This specimen survives in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, preserving the crisp details of its design just as it appeared when it first left the coining press. The obverse of the coin presents a profile of Thomas Jefferson, the third president of the United States. Accompanying his likeness are the traditional inscriptions "Liberty" and "IN GOD WE TRUST," alongside the 2012 year of issue and the "D" mint mark representing the Denver facility. On the reverse, viewers can admire a detailed rendering of Monticello, Jefferson's historic plantation home in Virginia. The building's name, "MONTICELLO," is inscribed directly beneath the structure, surrounded by the national motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and the issuing authority, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," with the denomination expressed as "FIVE CENTS."
