2015-D ATB Quarter Blue Ridge Parkway BU
Struck at the Denver Mint in 2015, this quarter dollar represents a celebration of the natural beauty found along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Part of the America the Beautiful series, the coin is composed of 75 percent copper and 25 percent nickel, presenting a brilliant uncirculated finish that highlights the intricate details of its design. The obverse features the familiar profile of George Washington, originally modeled by John Flanagan and later modified by William Cousins, with additional design work by Don Everhart. Surrounding the portrait are the traditional inscriptions of LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the Denver mint mark, alongside the denomination of QUARTER DOLLAR and the issuing nation, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. On the reverse, the coin honors the scenic parkway winding through North Carolina. The inscriptions BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY and NORTH CAROLINA frame the scene, completed by the year 2015 and the national motto, E PLURIBUS UNUM.
