In 2020, the United States Mint released a distinctive quarter dollar celebrating the National Park of American Samoa, marking the fifty first entry in the celebrated fifty six coin America the Beautiful series. Struck at the West Point Mint, this particular issue carries the 'W' mint mark, making it a notable find for those who appreciate the nuances of modern coinage. The composition of the coin consists of a copper and nickel outer layer bonded to a core of pure copper. The reverse of the coin features a striking and tender image of a Samoan fruit bat mother hanging upside down with her young pup, highlighting the unique wildlife of the region.
