2015-D ATB Quarter Bombay Hook Wildlife Refuge BU
In 2015, the United States Mint continued its celebrated America the Beautiful series with a tribute to the natural sanctuary of Delaware. This twenty-five cent piece, struck at the Denver Mint and preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, represents the twenty-ninth release overall in the multi-year program and the fourth design issued in 2015. The reverse side of the coin features a detailed depiction of the Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge, a vital tidal salt marsh along the Atlantic coast. The design captures the serene beauty of the refuge, bordered by the inscriptions of the location name, the state of Delaware, the year of issue, and the traditional national motto. On the obverse, the coin displays the familiar portrait of George Washington, originally created by John Flanagan. This side bears the classic inscriptions denoting the nation, the liberty of its people, the national trust, and the denomination of the coin, alongside the distinctive 'D' mint mark indicating its Denver origin.
