The 2015 Lincoln Cent represents a modern chapter in one of America's most enduring coin series. Struck in Philadelphia, this brilliant uncirculated coin showcases a vibrant red copper luster. Though it appears entirely copper, the coin's composition is actually a blend of 99.2 percent zinc with a thin outer coating of 0.8 percent copper, a metallurgical combination designed to balance durability and appearance. On the obverse, the coin displays the iconic right-facing profile of Abraham Lincoln, a historic design originally created by Victor David Brenner. This side features the clear inscriptions of the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST", alongside the word "LIBERTY" and the year "2015". The reverse side features the Union shield design by Lyndall Bass, which has been minted continuously from 2010 to the present day. The shield symbolizes national unity and strength, bearing the traditional Latin motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" draped across a scroll.
