The design captures these essential elements of survival by depicting a log cabin for shelter, a water pump, and ears of corn representing food. Inscriptions on this side include the location of Homestead, Nebraska, the year 2015, and the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. On the obverse, the familiar portrait of George Washington is presented with a soft luster.
