Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this copper-nickel quarter dollar honors Theodore Roosevelt National Park, a sanctuary established in 1946 to preserve the badlands that profoundly influenced the nation's 26th president. Composed of 75 percent copper and 25 percent nickel, this brilliant uncirculated coin captures a pivotal figure in American conservation history. The reverse side of the coin presents a vivid scene of Theodore Roosevelt on horseback, looking out over the waters of the Little Missouri River. This imagery recalls his deep connection to the North Dakota wilderness, where his experiences shaped his lifelong dedication to protecting natural resources.
