This 2019 quarter from the Denver Mint represents a poignant entry in the America the Beautiful series. Struck in a durable composition of copper and nickel bonded to a pure copper core, this brilliant uncirculated coin highlights a significant site of remembrance in the Pacific. The Denver Mint mark, a small letter D, is visible on the coin. The reverse side features a detailed depiction of a young woman standing before the Flag Circle and the Court of Honor. This imagery honors the American Memorial Park, which was created in 1978 on Saipan to remember the service members who lost their lives during the Marianas Campaign of June and July 1944. Legible inscriptions on this side include the name of the park, "N. MARIANA ISLANDS", the year 2019, and the traditional motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM". On the obverse, the coin displays the classic portrait of George Washington originally created by John Flanagan.
