2022-D Lincoln Cent BU (Red)
The 2022-D Lincoln Cent represents a modern chapter in one of the longest-running coin series in United States history. Struck at the Denver Mint, this specimen shines in Brilliant Uncirculated condition with its original red copper luster. Though primarily composed of zinc (99.2 percent) with a thin copper plating (0.8 percent), the coin retains the warm, classic appearance that has defined the penny for generations. The obverse features the iconic right-facing profile of Abraham Lincoln, a design originally created by Victor David Brenner. Accompanying the portrait are the familiar inscriptions of American coinage, including "IN GOD WE TRUST" along the top curve, "LIBERTY" to the left, and the date "2022" paired with the "D" mint mark on the right. On the reverse, the coin displays the Union shield design by Lyndall Bass, which has been minted continuously from 2010 to the present day. This powerful symbol of national unity is inscribed with "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and the traditional motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" across the top, while the denomination "ONE CENT" is boldly featured on a scroll draped across the shield.
