2022-S American Innovation $1 Tennessee Valley PR-70 PCGS (AR)

0.0000 troy oz 2022 Proof - 70 DCAM (PCGS)

The American Innovation Dollar series celebrates the spirit of ingenuity across the United States by honoring groundbreaking concepts and creators from every state, territory, and the District of Columbia. Released in the order of statehood at a rate of four distinct designs annually, this series runs alongside the Native American Dollar. This particular coin highlights Tennessee with a composition consisting of a pure copper core bonded to outer layers of manganese brass, which contains 77 percent copper, 12 percent zinc, 7 percent manganese, and 4 percent nickel. On the obverse, a side-profile view of the Statue of Liberty stands alongside the traditional motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the face value of "$1". A small, stylized gear privy mark is also integrated into the front design. The reverse of the coin presents a stark visual contrast between the old and the new, depicting high-voltage power lines stretching across a quiet countryside landscape featuring a traditional barn. This imagery represents the historic effort to bring electricity to the Tennessee Valley. Because the face of the coin is dedicated entirely to the artwork, the essential details are moved to the edge. Incused along the side of the coin are the year 2022, the "S" mint mark indicating its origin from the San Francisco Mint, and the national motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM". This specific piece is certified in flawless Proof 70 Deep Cameo condition, highlighting the sharp contrast between the frosted details and the mirror-like fields.
