2024 Lincoln Cent BU (Red)
The 2024 Lincoln Cent represents a continuation of one of the most enduring coin designs in United States history. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this modern issue features a brilliant uncirculated finish with its original red luster. The composition of the coin is primarily zinc, making up 99.2 percent of the alloy, with a thin outer plating of 0.8 percent copper. On the obverse, the right facing portrait of Abraham Lincoln remains the central focus, a design created by Victor David Brenner. This side bears the familiar inscriptions of LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, alongside the 2024 year of issue. Because it was minted in Philadelphia, it does not display a mint mark. The reverse showcases the Union shield design by Lyndall Bass, which has been minted continuously from 2010 to the present day. This powerful emblem represents national unity and features a scroll draped across the shield. The reverse is inscribed with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, the traditional Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the denomination ONE CENT.
