Released in the chronological order that states joined the Union, this multi-year initiative runs alongside the Native American dollar program, delivering four distinct designs each year backed by the United States government. This brilliant uncirculated dollar honors Illinois by depicting a steel plow slicing through soil, framed by delicate prairie grass. The reverse design includes the inscriptions "Steel Plow", "Illinois", and "United States of America". On the obverse, a classic profile of the Statue of Liberty is accompanied by a stylized gear privy mark, the face value of "$1", and the traditional motto "IN GOD WE TRUST".
