This ancient gold stater originates from the legendary era of Alexander the Great, who ruled the Kingdom of Macedonia from 336 to 323 BC. Weighing approximately 8.5 grams, the coin represents the high artistry and economic reach of the ancient Greek world during a period of vast imperial expansion. The obverse of the coin displays the profile of Athena, the goddess of wisdom and warfare, depicted wearing an ornate helmet.
