Dating back more than 2,300 years, this ancient gold stater originates from the historic Kingdom of Macedon. Struck during the era of Alexander III, who ruled from 336 to 323 BC, this coin represents an early posthumous issue. It weighs approximately 8.5 grams, containing 0.1200 troy ounces of gold. The obverse features the detailed profile of Athena, the goddess of wisdom and war, wearing a crested Corinthian helmet adorned with a coiled serpent. On the reverse, the goddess of victory, Nike, is depicted standing and facing left, holding a stylus and a laurel wreath.
