Struck in the early years of the United States, this 1819 silver half dollar represents a classic era of American coinage. Minted in Philadelphia, the coin is composed of 89.24 percent silver, containing approximately 0.3868 troy ounces of the precious metal. It remains a captivating example of early nineteenth-century monetary art, preserved in Extra Fine condition. The obverse displays a left-facing portrait of Lady Liberty, her hair draped in a cap, surrounded by stars with the date 1819 positioned below.
