1821 Capped Bust Quarter Good

0.1934 troy oz .8924 1821 Good

The 1821 Capped Bust Quarter represents an early era of American coinage, originating from the Philadelphia Mint. Struck in 0.8924 fine silver, this twenty-five cent piece is recognized as a scarce survivor from the early nineteenth century, containing 0.17875 troy ounces of pure silver. The obverse features a classic left-facing profile of Lady Liberty wearing her draped cap, which is inscribed with her name. Thirteen stars encircle her portrait, representing the original colonies, with the date 1821 positioned clearly at the bottom. On the reverse, a detailed eagle stands with wings spread, a shield draped across its chest. In its talons, the eagle grasps an olive branch of peace alongside a cluster of arrows, symbolizing strength. The legend reads UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, accompanied by the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM and the denomination written as 25 C.
