Struck in Philadelphia from an alloy containing 0.0775 troy ounces of silver, the coin carries a purity of 0.8924. This ten cent piece showcases the artistry of designer John Reich, capturing the aesthetic sensibilities of a young republic. The obverse side presents a left-facing portrait of Liberty, recognizable by the Phrygian cap resting on her head with her hair flowing downward behind her. Surrounding this central figure is an arc of thirteen stars, symbolizing the original thirteen colonies that formed the nation. The year 1825 is inscribed clearly at the bottom of the design.
