The year 1833 saw the creation of this silver half dollar, a prominent representative of the Capped Bust series. Struck in Philadelphia with a silver purity of 0.8924, this coin carries a precious metal content of 0.3868 troy ounces. It survives today in an impressive Almost Uncirculated condition, offering a remarkably clear window into early nineteenth-century American coinage. On the obverse, the coin displays a left-facing profile of Lady Liberty, her hair loosely covered by a classic cap inscribed with the word LIBERTY.
