1873-CC Liberty Seated Half Dollar Good-4 PCGS (w/Arrows)

In 1873, the Carson City Mint produced a distinctive variation of the Liberty Seated half dollar. This silver coin, struck with a purity of 0.900, features two arrows placed on either side of the date on the obverse. This specific design detail makes the issue highly recognizable to those studying nineteenth-century American coinage. The obverse displays the figure of Liberty seated, holding a pole topped with a liberty cap in one hand while supporting a shield with the other. Below this figure, the year 1873 is flanked by the notable arrows. On the reverse, an eagle is depicted perched upon a branch, gripping three arrows in its talons, with a shield positioned across its chest. The famous CC mint mark of the Carson City facility is located on this reverse side, just above the denomination inscription. This particular coin has survived over a century of circulation and is certified in Good 4 condition. Out of an original mintage of 59,000 pieces, very few of these Carson City silver halves remain today, making each surviving specimen a fascinating window into the early days of the Nevada mint.
