Struck in 1925, this silver half dollar honors the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the historic events of 1775. Composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.3617 troy ounces of precious metal, the coin serves as a detailed artistic tribute to the opening moments of the American Revolutionary War. It has been certified in Mint State 64 (MS-64) condition, preserving its intricate design elements for modern observers. The front of the coin features a depiction of the Concord Minuteman, symbolizing the ready-at-a-moment's-notice citizen soldiers of the era. The words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, and CONCORD MINUTEMAN are inscribed alongside the denomination of HALF DOLLAR. On the reverse, the design showcases the Old Belfry of Lexington. This structure played a critical role in the conflict, as its bell was rung to alert the local militia to assemble for the coming battle. The back of the coin is inscribed with OLD BELFRY, LEXINGTON and the dual dates of 1775 to 1925, marking a century and a half since that fateful alarm.
