The year 1932 marked the debut of a classic American coin design, the Washington Quarter. Struck in 90 percent silver, this twenty-five cent piece was created to honor the bicentennial of George Washington's birth. While the new design was distributed across the country, the Denver Mint produced only a tiny fraction of the total output, making any surviving specimen from this facility highly sought after by numismatic enthusiasts. With a remarkably low mintage of just 436,800 pieces, the 1932 Denver issue stands as one of the key keys to the entire series. This specific coin has been certified in About Uncirculated 55 (AU-55) condition, meaning it retains much of its original mint luster and sharp detail, showing only minor wear from its brief time in commerce. The obverse displays the familiar left-facing portrait of George Washington, accompanied by the word LIBERTY and the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST, with the first-year date of 1932 positioned at the bottom. The reverse features a spread-winged eagle perched above olive branches, surrounded by the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the denomination, QUARTER DOLLAR.
