1934-D Washington Quarter XF
The 1934 Washington Quarter represents an early entry in one of America's most enduring coin series. Minted in Denver, as indicated by the D mint mark, this piece is struck in 90 percent silver, containing approximately 0.1788 troy ounces of the precious metal. It survives today in Extra Fine condition, preserving the clear details of its mid-1930s craftsmanship. On the obverse, the coin displays the left-facing profile of George Washington. This iconic portrait was created by sculptor John Flanagan. Above the image of the first president, the word LIBERTY is inscribed, while the motto IN GOD WE TRUST sits to the left of his neck, with the date 1934 positioned at the bottom. The reverse presents a bold heraldic eagle with its wings spread wide, standing upon a bundle of arrows. An olive branch is nestled beneath the arrows, symbolizing peace alongside strength. The inscriptions on this side include the issuing nation, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and the denomination, QUARTER DOLLAR, framing the majestic central design.
