Struck in 90 percent silver, this 1935 commemorative half dollar celebrates three centuries of Connecticut history. The coin contains 0.3617 troy ounces of precious metal, offering a substantial and tactile connection to early twentieth-century American coinage. This specific piece is preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, displaying beautiful toning that highlights its artistic details. The obverse of the coin prominently features the historic Charter Oak. This depiction of the famous tree was inspired by an original painting by Charles DeWolf Brownell. Inscriptions surrounding the oak include "LIBERTY", "IN GOD WE TRUST", and "CHARTER OAK", alongside the name of the state. On the reverse, a highly stylized eagle stands with folded wings upon a solid block.
