Composed of 90 percent silver, the coin contains 0.17875 troy ounces of precious metal. The obverse displays the left-facing portrait of the nation's first president, George Washington, based on a design by John Flanagan. Above his head, the word LIBERTY is inscribed, while the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST sits to the left of his neck, with the year 1935 positioned at the bottom. On the reverse, a powerful heraldic eagle is depicted with wings spread, clutching a bundle of arrows and an olive branch in its talons, symbolizing both strength and peace.
