1935-S Washington Quarter Good/Fine

0.1788 troy oz .900 1935 Good or Better

The 1935 Washington quarter stands as a classic representative of mid-century American coinage. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, as indicated by its S mint mark, this twenty-five cent piece is composed of 90 percent silver, containing approximately 0.1788 troy ounces of the precious metal. On the obverse, the coin displays the left-facing profile of George Washington. This familiar portrait is accompanied by the inscriptions LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST. The design, created by John Flanagan, has become one of the most recognizable images in United States currency. The reverse of the coin presents a powerful heraldic eagle. The bird is depicted with its wings spread, clutching a bundle of arrows and an olive branch in its talons, symbolizing both strength and peace. The traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM is positioned above the eagle, framed by the legends UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and QUARTER DOLLAR.
