1935 Washington Quarter VF

0.1788 troy oz .900 1935 Very Fine

In 1935, the United States Mint continued a classic American coin series that remains a staple of pocket change today, though this early issue was struck in a high-purity silver alloy. Minted in Philadelphia, this twenty-five cent piece contains 0.17875 troy ounces of actual silver content. This particular specimen survives in Very Fine condition, showing the moderate wear of a coin that actively circulated during the mid-1930s. The coin features the artwork of sculptor John Flanagan. On the obverse, the profile of George Washington faces left, accompanied by the national motto of trust and the 1935 date. The reverse displays a powerful heraldic eagle with its wings spread wide, gripping a bundle of arrows in its talons above an olive branch, symbolizing both strength and peace. Above the eagle, the traditional Latin motto is inscribed, completing a design that has defined the American quarter for generations.
