1936-D Washington Quarter AU
In 1936, the Denver Mint produced a silver quarter that remains a compelling artifact of American coinage. Struck with a purity of 90 percent silver, this piece contains approximately 0.17875 troy ounces of the precious metal. It represents an early era of a design that became a staple of United States pocket change, preserved here in Almost Uncirculated condition. The obverse of the coin presents the left-facing profile of the nation's first president, George Washington. Above and around his portrait, the classic inscriptions of liberty and national faith are integrated into the design, including the motto IN GOD WE TRUST and the date of 1936 at the base. On the reverse, a powerful heraldic eagle is depicted with its wings spread wide, clutching a bundle of arrows in its talons above an olive branch, symbolizing both strength and peace. The Denver mint mark, a small D, is positioned below the eagle, while the legends UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the denomination of QUARTER DOLLAR frame the central image.
