In 1936, the Denver Mint produced a run of 5,374,000 silver quarters, each composed of 90 percent silver with a precious metal weight of 0.1788 troy ounces. This particular specimen has survived the decades in remarkable condition, earning a certified grade of Mint State 64 (MS-64). It stands as a beautifully preserved representative of early twentieth-century American coinage. The obverse features a left-facing profile of George Washington. Accompanying this central portrait are the traditional inscriptions of "LIBERTY" and "IN GOD WE TRUST," along with the 1936 date positioned at the bottom. On the reverse, an eagle stretches its wings wide across the center of the coin. The reverse design incorporates the national motto "E Pluribus Unum," the country of origin, and the twenty-five cent denomination. Collectors studying this coin will also find the "D" mint mark, indicating its origin from the Denver facility.
