Struck at the Denver Mint during the late 1930s, this twenty-five cent piece represents a classic era of American circulating coinage. Crafted from 90 percent silver, the coin contains approximately 0.1788 troy ounces of precious metal. It remains a compelling example of mid-century United States currency, showcasing the artistry of sculptor John Flanagan. The obverse presents a left-facing portrait of George Washington, the nation's first president. This bust is accompanied by the prominent motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the year 1937. On the reverse, a powerful heraldic eagle is depicted with wings spread wide, gripping a bundle of arrows and an olive branch in its talons.
